Riccardo Tisci Is The New Chief Creative Officer At Burberry

It’s official: Riccardo Tisci is the new chief creative officer of Burberry, effective March 12. Tisci, a graduate of Central Saint Martins in London, succeeds Christopher Bailey, who was at the helm of the British brand for 17 years.

Christopher Bailey’s final Burberry Collection

Christopher Bailey said his goodbye to Burberry on Saturday night at London Fashion Week, after 17 years at the helm. This season, Bailey has created a capsule of reissued pieces from the Eighties and Nineties and designed an entirely new iteration of Burberry’s iconic check in support of the LGBTQ.
“My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to – and in support of – some of the best and brightest organisations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world,” said Bailey of his last project at the house. “There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity.”
