Lady Gaga Wears The Tiffany Diamond At The 2019 Oscars

Lady Gaga wears the Tiffany Diamond at Academy Awards 2019
Lady Gaga stepped out on the red carpet at the 2019 Oscars in a long black gown and gloves designed by Alexander McQueen, paired with the ultimate accessory to complete the look: the iconic Tiffany yellow Diamond, which weighs in at 128.54 carats. Discovered in South Africa in 1877, the diamond has an estimated worth of $30 million, and it was last worn by Audrey Hepburn in 1962 when she posed for the poster art for Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

“The chance to work with such an amazing piece of design and history tonight is a creative dream come true. There are so many beautiful jewels in the world, but the radiant Tiffany Diamond, which weighs over 128 carats, is truly exceptional, which is just so fitting for Lady Gaga.” shared in a press release her stylists, Sandra Amador and Tom Eerebout.

In the spotlight. The world-renowned Tiffany Diamond weighs 128.54 carats and has only been worn twice before—including by Audrey Hepburn. Worn by @ladygaga to tonight’s #Oscars, it is suspended from a platinum necklace of alternating cushion-cut and round brilliant diamonds. Appearing as if it is lit by an inner flame, the legendary cushion-cut yellow diamond has a unique 82 facets—24 more facets than the traditional 58-facet brilliant cut. The Tiffany Diamond is, quite literally, priceless. #LadyGaga #Oscars #ATiffanyDiamondADay #TheTiffanyDiamond

Released from the vault specifically for Lady Gaga, this marks the first time in history that the legendary Tiffany Diamond has graced an awards show red carpet. The star is nominated for two Academy Awards: Best Actress in a Leading Role and Best Original Song—both for the motion picture “A Star is Born.” #LadyGaga #AStarIsBorn #ATiffanyDiamondADay #TheTiffanyDiamond
