Riccardo Tisci Is The New Chief Creative Officer At Burberry

It’s official: Riccardo Tisci assumed the role of Chief Creative Officer at Burberry, effective March 12. A graduate of Central Saint Martins in London, Tisci follows in the footsteps of Christopher Bailey, who held the reins of the British brand for 17 years.
“I am honoured and delighted to be joining Burberry as its new Chief Creative Officer and reuniting with Marco Gobbetti,” Tisci said in a statement. “I have an enormous respect for Burberry’s British heritage and global appeal and I am excited about the potential of this exceptional brand.”

Christopher Bailey bid farewell to Burberry on Saturday night at London Fashion Week, concluding his remarkable 17-year tenure at the helm. This season, Bailey curated a capsule collection featuring reissued pieces from the Eighties and Nineties. Additionally, he unveiled a fresh interpretation of Burberry’s iconic check, crafted to show support for LGBTQ causes.

“My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to – and in support of – some of the best and brightest organisations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world,” said Bailey of his last project at the house. “There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity.”
