Photographed by Norman Jean Roy , Lindsay Lohan is the October 2010 cover girl of Vanity Fair magazine.In the interview which took place before she headed to jail , Lindsay Lohan speaks of trial, career, and past drug use. Highlights from her interview after the jump.

On her career being far from over: “I want my career back. I know that I’m a damn good actress, and it’s been my passion since I was a child, and I know that when I care about something, I put 100 percent and more into it. … I want the respect that I had when I was doing great movies. And if that takes not going out to a club at night, then so be it. It’s not fun anyway. I don’t care. It’s the same thing every time.”

On denying drug abuse: “I’ve never abused prescription drugs. I never have — never in my life. I have no desire to. That’s not who I am. I’ve admitted to the things that I’ve done — to, you know, dabbling in certain things and trying things ’cause I was young and curious and thought it was like, O.K., ’cause other people were doing it and other people put it in front of me. And I see what happened in my life because of it.”

On hanging out with the wrong crowd: “So many people around me would say they cared for the wrong reasons. A lot of people were pulling from me, taking from me and not giving. I had a lot of people that were there for me for, you know, the party.”

Hollywood beauty Halle Berry is the first black woman to grace Vogue’s September cover since Naomi Campbell in 1989. Halle is one of the few actresses I don’t get tired of seeing. She really is beautiful. Highlights from her interview after the jump.

On her first interview in three years: “I was burned-out with having other people tell the story about me that they wanted to tell. I told my publicist, ‘I’m not going to talk anymore. I’m just going to live my life and be who I am.’”

On her relationship and breakup with Gabriel Aubry: “It’s just that you realize you are not meant to go the distance with everybody. We were meant to bring this amazing little person (daughter Nahla Aubry) into the world. And I think that’s why we came together. And because of that, we are going to be together forever, all three of us. We are a family until we are not here anymore… We have always been friends, we’re still friends, we love each other very much, and we both share the love of our lives. And we are both 100 percent committed to being the best parents we can be. And while it was not a love connection for us, he was absolutely the right person to have this child with because she is going to have an amazing father. And that was really important to me. We’ll make sure we always do what is right for her and put her first. And she will see as she grows that we have a lot of love for each other.”

On her appreciation of the female body: “I love the naked female form…. I just feel like that’s the most empowered position you can be in… That comes with age. I’ve been slowly getting there. If the world wouldn’t persecute me, I’d take nude pictures every day of the week.”

“30 years – whoosh, more than an instant in i-D’s lifeline – it’s a generation. Three decades to be celebrated and contained in this special issue. The whole issue was created by Nick Knight 200 portraits that SHOWstudio made at the close of 2009 in Somerset House – once the home of British passports, now the central location for British Fashion Week. Nick’s celebration of identity was also a commemorative project inspired by the 5th birthday issue of i-D, where 100 portraits were featured in The Grown Up Issue. 25 years on, the gallery selection grew to 200.
