It’s official. British luxury fashion brand Alexander McQueen has announced the appointment of Emmanuel Gintzburger as chief executive officer, replacing Jonathan Akeroyd. The Frenchman will begin his new role from May 9, and will use his experience of business development and expertise in retail and marketing to pursue the brand’s global expansion.
New York-based fashion designer Jason Wu is launching a new ‘sister’ label called Grey Jason Wu. The collection is inspired by his friends’ personal style.
“I often look to my friends for inspiration and I created this collection for women who look for beautifully made, well considered clothes that have a sense of whimsy and uncomplicated chic that suit their everyday lives.”

Willow Smith, the 15-year-old daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, was announced as the latest ambassador for Chanel. Smith announced the news on her Instagram: “Thank you Karl Lagerfeld and the entire team at Chanel for expanding the perceptions of “beauty” by picking me to be the new Chanel ambassador. I am honoured,” reads the caption. Smith is the youngest brand ambassador of Chanel — how cool is that?
French luxury label Saint Laurent presented its fall-winter 2016 men’s collection and part 1 of the women’s collection at the Hollywood Palladium music hall. “Snowbird” – Kenzo just revealed this mini cinematic masterpiece by Sean Baker, featuring the Kenzo Spring-Summer 2016 collection from Creative Directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim. Best known for his film “Tangerine” the acclaimed writer/director captured the film entirely on iPhone.
“It removes all the intimidation,” said Baker in an interview with The New York Times. “It feels like we’re shooting a home movie or a selfie… You have to consider this iPhone just as important as a 35-millimeter camera, or we lose from Day 1. You have to take it even more seriously.”
